Self-taught photographer born in Istanbul, currently based in Berlin. Her interest in photography was enhanced by participating in the seminar class of Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie (2020/21). Her first project ‘‘Inside Out’’ was exhibited at Kunstquartier Bethanien, Berlin (2021). Since then, photography has been an experimental journey for understanding and discovering her surroundings and a medium for expressing herself visually.
Disappointing Light (2022, ongoing)
Disappointing Light mirrors the current atmosphere and the melancholic mood residing in Turkey. Uneasy cities are inhabited by people with common struggles, shrouded by uncertainty in silence. Time is witness to the gradual disappearance of what went well before, generating a longing for the feeling of the collective spirit. The light of the land is disappointing, and these visual forms reflect this abstract expression of moments encountered every day.
