Michael Grieve is a photographer, writer, educator, curator, and director of ArtFotoMode and Werkstatt Fotografie. Based in Berlin and Athens. He graduated with an MA in Photographic Studies from the University of Westminster in 1997. He has been a photographer commissioned for magazines and publications internationally and represented by Agence VU in Paris. In 2010 he became the deputy editor of 1000 Words Contemporary Photography Magazine. Since 2011 he has been a senior lecturer at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, a lecturer at Akademia Fotografii in Warsaw/Krakow, a lecturer at the University of Art and Design in Berlin, and a lecturer for six years at Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in Berlin. He is the founder/director of the Werkstatt Fotografie that is an education program and gallery in Berlin and Hamburg. ArtFotoMode organises workshops and a one year educational program in various European cities. He is a regular writer and portrait photographer for the British Journal of Photography. He continues to work on personal documentary photography projects.
