About the
WORKSHOP

Developing Your Personal Project:

The goal of this workshop is to help photographers develop and realize full-scale personal projects. Along with sharing his own work, Alec Soth will lead group critiques and meet with participants individually. Topics discussed will be narrative, sequencing, text, and distribution through publishing, exhibitions, and performance. Special emphasis will be given to creative roadblocks. Participants will be given assignments and exercises that help them expand the boundaries of their practice.

On the final evening there will be a slide show presentation to a public audience of projects made by participants during the workshop, and a presentation and ‘in conversation’ with Alec Soth and an invited guest.
